Annabella Kennels

American BrittanyAnnabella Kennels is a full-time gun dog training and breeding facility! We pride ourselves in breeding upland hunting dogs who excel in the field and also make great companions .Our breeding program has been built on decades of research and by traveling the United States from coast to coast, hand picking dogs that would continually produce true to form. We focus on breeding puppies who are focused, intelligent, willing to please, easy to train at home or in the field, naturally point and retrieve, and are great companions. Our dogs can sit and watch the game by the fire on Friday evening and put game in the bag Saturday morning. They are bred to be a loving companion to all in the family including children. We have a very high standard for our dogs to live up to. With each litter we look to improve the breed and help individuals find their next hunting companion. We continually compare our breeding to others across the country as we have the opportunity to train many dogs each year. We strive to provide you the best fit for you and your family. If you are looking for a Field test dog, a hunting companion dog, a dog who can keep up with you on your long runs, or one who can make a great family pet, we will take the time to help you find the right dog for your living situation. This is our passion, this is our life, this is our family. Our dogs are part of our family and very much who we are. Give us a call to discuss what your needs are what dog would make a great addition to your family.

Bella’s First Pheasant Hunt

Bellas First Pheasant Hunt We love to hear how our puppies are growing and developing into great bird dogs and family companions. We received this photo this week from some folks that bought a female from Annie and Buster's first litter. The name their puppy "Bella" and have spoiled her rotten I am sure. She is turning out to be a great hunting partner for Michael. Pictured above is a recent pheasant hunt. Mike says..
She pointed and retreived 5 for 6 today. The last one was a runner and she got him up in front of my son, he shot it and found her with the rooster pinned to the ground with both front feet. Off to Northeastern Colo. tommorrow. Regards, Mike

Earning their Keep

Buster Rooster Pheasant Retrieve Seven months out of the year my brittany dogs work as guide dogs on a pheasant hunting preserve. This helps to keep them on top of their game and it is also how they earn their room and board. I feel like it would be a shame to have such fine working dogs and not give them a job to do. Buster is pictured here retrieving a healthy rooster pheasant.

Annie doing what she loves best

Feb Pheasant Hunt with Annie Annie gets to hunt pheasants 7 months out of the year as a guide dog at our local pheasant preserve. She loves pheasant hunting more than anything and is a flawless retriever. She will even do water retrieves as long as she sees the bird go down. She has done a couple of blind retrieves but she really took some coaxing. Many times I just take my camera and take pictures of the dog work and the hunters. I would rather leave my gun home than go hunting without a my bird dogs. When I pull out back in the truck they can tell we are gonna have some fun and they all get excited. We are planning another litter of puppies from Annie in the fall of 2010.
