Learning from the experts is a great way to dig in to bird dog training. Our hunting dog training program is based on the First Steps DVD by Ben Garcia and the Bird Dog Training Manual by Dave Walker. I have had the opportunity to spend hours and hours with these experts as well as other great dog trainers. Using positive training methods we work to cultivate the natural gamebird hunting and pointing instincts of the American Brittany dog.

Ben’s First Steps program builds the confidence in young pups and cultivates prey drive. Dave Walker’s bird dog training method focuses on “stand up and stand still” with the use of live birds in training dogs to be steady to wing and shot. We use both live pigeons, quail, chukar and pheasant throughout the training process. We also utilize Tri-Tronics electronic training collars and are members of the Tri-Tronics Influentials club.
