Sis Takes First Place

Sis Derby First Place

We are really excited about how Sis is progressing in her field trialing. She took a first place this past weekend at a Vizsla trial in Nebraska. She had 3 nice finds and impressed a lot of bird dog trainers at the trial. We are especially proud of her as she is a product of our own breeding (Sue X Luke’s first litter). Her littermate brother Tucker is really doing well at field trial competitions as well, but he is taking the fall off to go hunting for wild birds.

So far she has only competed in puppy and derby stake but we are hoping to finish her next year and get her FC title. A special thanks to Ben Garcia at Hideaway Kennels. Ben has done a great job in training and handling Sis in field trial competitions. Last weekend she took home a 4th place ribbon at the Skyline Brittany Club trial in Colorado. If you think you might like a field trial dog or a fine hunting companion, check out the repeat Sue X Luke breeding coming up in 2013.

Early Puppy Socialization

2wk Puppies Morgan KinnyOne of the things we are proud about is that our brittany puppies are extremely well socialized. They are handled daily from their first hours of life and this makes a big difference. A well socialized puppy is a puppy that is ready for anything. By the time our puppies go home at 7-8 weeks old they have been introduced to many new things. We take them on walks, they meet horses, cats, other dogs, people, mud, water, birds, noises, bugs, bikes, etc… We take them for rides in the car. We get them used to a collar and a leash, loading into a dog crate. More time with kids and meeting strangers, playing with them and retrieving toys. The results? You get a well-adjusted brittany puppy that is ready for anything. A confident puppy that is ready to learn and grow with you. An Annabella Brittany Puppy.

Buster Sadie Brittany Puppies We were waiting to see if this litter took before announcing it. She was so small I did not believe that the puppies were in there. Last night we were thrilled to find 4 healthy puppies in Sadies dog den. 3 females and 1 male puppy were whelped on September 2nd, 2011. Two of them are liver and white and while the other two are orange white, still waiting to see if any will be roan colored. Two of the puppies were whelped with natural bobbed tails which we have not seen before in our kennels.

Puppies Going Home

Orange Roan Female Brittany Puppy
It is always fun to send our Brittany puppies home to their new families. We were proud to send this little female orange roan puppy to live with Steve in Wyoming. All of our Sue X Luke puppies are in their new homes now. The lone male a liver roan puppy went to Colorado. The white and liver female we called Mildred went to Wayne in Arizona. The other liver roan pup, a female, went home to San Diego. We decided to keep this white and orange female we are calling Minnie. She will be a part of our future and a guide dog on our pheasant preserve.
